every Pons coin is born an egg

imago

Its wings are read from its contract address. Every trade feeds it. Graduation lets it fly, and it goes straight for the light.

01

Four lives,
one address.

Nothing here is drawn by hand. The chain decides the shape of the wings, how far the caterpillar has grown, and when the cocoon opens.

01 · ovum

Laid at launch.

The moment a coin launches on Pons, an egg appears on the branch. Its genome is the contract address: twenty bytes, read as fourteen genes.

its genome
02 · larva

Fed by every trade.

Buys fill the bonding curve. The caterpillar grows with it, segment by segment, and you can watch it put on weight in real time.

its appetite
03 · pupa

It spins.

Past 85% of the curve it stops eating and hangs from the branch in silk. Cocoons glow when they are a few buys from opening.

04 · imago

It flies to the light.

Graduation opens the cocoon. The wings unfold with the pattern its address always had, and it joins the others circling the lamp.

The collection.

Every recent Pons launch, pinned and labelled. The Latin name comes from what the coin is paired with and from its address. Click a specimen to see it up close, or to feed it.

03

Lay an egg.

A real launch on Pons from your wallet. The preview is a guess: the true wings are read from the address the chain gives your coin, so the moth you get is the one it was always going to be.

04

How it grows.

Stages come straight from the coin's Pons bonding curve. Nothing is stored anywhere but the chain.
